Things got heated during the last face-off between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia.
On April 22, Davis and Garcia will meet inside the T-Mobile Center for one of the most highly-anticipated boxing matches of the year. Before making the bout official, both fighters had to weigh in, which went down on Friday. ‘Tank’ stepped on the scale at 135.1 pounds, and ‘King Ry’ showed up at 135.5 pounds.
After successfully weighing in, the undefeated superstars came face-to-face for the final time before fight night. As one would expect, the tension that had been building for weeks led to an intense staredown.
The interaction started with both fighters keeping their emotions in check. It didn’t take long for them to start trash-talking, quickly leading to back-and-forth screaming. Davis could be heard claiming Garcia struggled with his weight cut, which was denied by ‘King Ry’ continuously.
The face-off ended when Davis lightly pushed Garcia backward, with the latter returning the favor. Both teams stepped in, and the situation de-escalated after some more shoving.

Gervonta Davis gets into an altercation with Bernard Hopkins
Boxing legend Bernard Hopkins is a part of Ryan Garcia’s team as an advisor, coach, and mentor. During Garcia’s final face-off with Gervonta Davis, Hopkins snuck around to the middle of the scrum and lightly put his hand on Davis, which aggravated the undefeated superstar.
Davis turned towards Hopkins and began screaming at him before reverting his attention back to Garcia. Once the teams parted ways, ‘Tank’ had this to say about the altercation with the former world champion:
“He was talking about he’s about that life. Nobody’s worried about his old a*s, he needs to sit back and let the youngins do it.”
The rivalry between Davis and Garcia has led to a must-see boxing match that has established mainstream attention. The time for trash talk is almost over. On Saturday night, someone’s 0 has to go as ‘Tank’ (28-0) and ‘King Ry’ (23-0) look to build their legacy at their opponent’s expense.
