The downward spiral of Ryan Garcia seems to know no end.

After a tumultuous month that has seen him both suspended and arrested, ‘King Ryan’ took another big hit when the World Boxing Council expelled the once-celebrated star after he repeatedly used racial slurs against black people and made disparaging remarks about Muslims during a rant on X Spaces.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman announced the news on the same platform that Garcia used to further sabotage his own career.

“Exercising my authority as president of the WBC, I am hereby expelling Ryan Garcia from any activity with our organization. We reject any form of discrimination. I fear for Ryan well being as he has declined multiple attempts for our help with mental health and substance abuse,” Sulaiman wrote.

It wasn’t immediately clear what sanctions the WBC would impose on Ryan, who is already serving a one-year suspension from the New York State Athletic Commission following an anti-doping violation related to his stunning win over Devin Haney in April. As a result, Garcia’s victory has been overturned to a no-contest.

Garcia posted a quasi-apology on social media following Sulaiman’s announcement.

“I was trolling I want all the killing to stop,” Garcia wrote. “I love everyone sorry if I offended you.”

The Family of Ryan Garcia Speaks Out

Shortly after the WBC announced its penalty, the family of Ryan Garcia spoke out, separating themselves from the boxer’s series of unsavory statements.

“Our family unequivocally does not support any statements [Garcia] has made regarding race or religion — these do not reflect who Ryan truly is and how he was raised,” the family’s statement read.

“Those who know Ryan can attest to this fact. Ryan has been open about his ongoing struggle with mental health over the years and as a family we are committed to ensuring and encouraging that he receives the necessary help to navigate this very challenging time and address both his immediate and long-term well-being.”

It’s been a turbulent month for the former WBC interim lightweight champion. While staying at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills, Garcia was arrested after reportedly damaging property in his room and a hallway.  He was arrested for felony vandalism and was accused of causing damages worth upwards of $15,000.
