- Floyd Mayweather eyes doing one more exhibition match this year
- “Money” has yet to divulge the details of his next fight
Floyd Mayweather did not fail to deliver as advertised in his eight-round exhibition against Don Moore at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi this past weekend. The 45-year-old put on an impressive performance and confirmed that he isn’t done yet.
One more time
Speaking after the fight, Mayweather expressed his gratitude to everyone who came to see him enter the ring once again. More importantly, “Money” vowed to put together another event in the UAE targeted to take place in October.
“I would like to thank everybody in the UAE, the media, and everybody who covered this fight,” Mayweather said. “This is one of the best countries in the world.”
“Don Moore is still undefeated, we are both still undefeated,” he continued. “I will bring another fight back to the UAE this year. It’s a secret. I don’t want to let the cat out the bag right now. But we have an opponent, and I choose the UAE. It’s been a little rollercoaster ride for all of the fighters. I want to commend the fighters on just being patient. These types of things happen in life. We go through ups. We go through downs, but we stand strong, stand together, and we made it happen. I just want to say thank you to everyone that’s here.”
Jake Paul has made his pitch
While Mayweather has yet to disclose further details of his next exhibition bout, he mentioned that they have already picked an opponent. Nothing is concrete at the moment, but YouTuber-turned-pro boxing star Jake Paul has expressed his interest, saying he “would beat Floyd and Anderson in the same night.”
No one can tell who Mayweather is facing next. However, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if “Money” picks Jake, having fought his older brother Logan already.
