The 2022 Mr. Olympia is set to go down this weekend, Dec. 15-18 at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. There is a lot of anticipation going into the contest as competitors from 11 divisions look to etch their names in the history books of the most prestigious fitness showcase.

Joe Weider’s annual Fitness & Performance weekend has established itself as the Super Bowl of bodybuilding. Fans will be excited as they get to watch the best bodybuilders from around the globe battle it out for the biggest prize in the sport. After a two-year hiatus, the show will return to its longtime home of Las Vegas, NV. There is a plethora of talent this year, with some major rivalries budding in the Men’s Open division, which serves as the main attraction around the event.
Reigning two-time Mr. Olympia winner Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay will look to extend his reign at the top against the grizzled veterans and the new crop of rising contenders. Meanwhile, current three-time Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead has attracted a lot of attention in the category. His dominance as a Classic competitor has seen him become one of the most popular athletes of any division and he will be aiming for a historic fourth victory.
212 champion Derek Lunsford will compete against the mass monsters of the Open division this year. With fellow standouts, Nick Walker, Hunter Labrada, and former champion Brandon Curry in the lineup, Lunsford’s entry injected even more heat into the competition. In the Women’s Figure division, Cydney Gillon has the opportunity to get the sixth title under her belt while Bikini Olympia champion Jennifer Dorie will be on the hunt for a successful title defense.
