If it wasn’t clear enough, Nate Diaz is eager to fight.
Diaz hasn’t competed since a unanimous decision defeat to Leon Edwards in their welterweight encounter back in June 2021.
In recent months, the Stockton native has been looking for a fight in what would be the last contest of his current UFC deal.
UFC president Dana White has notably stated that he is confident Diaz will sign a new deal while in a recent interview, he also stated that a fight would be offered to him soon.
For Diaz, however, his patience is seemingly running thin.
On Friday, Diaz lobbied to fight on the upcoming Bellator 279 card taking place in Hawaii next month. Diaz notably wants to fight alongside his friend and training partner Yancy Medeiros.
“I m tryin get on this @BellatorMMA card in April wit my boy @ymedeiros in HawaiiWasup wit @BellatorMMA 😎”
Nate Diaz vs. Dustin Poirier?
In reality, Diaz won’t be fighting in Bellator as long as he remains under contract with the UFC.
However, he certainly has the option to weigh up his options and test the market once he competes in the last fight of his current UFC deal.
Perhaps it will be the long-awaited fight with Dustin Poirier that seems all but set to be next for both fighters.
