Last night, on Saturday, August 11, 2023, Logan Storley had the incredible opportunity to fight in front of his fellow South Dakota fans at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. The main event of Bellator 298 was where it all unfolded, and Storley’s performance didn’t disappoint one bit.
Right from the get-go, Storley set the tone against Brennan Ward. He showed off his top-notch grappling skills by swiftly taking Ward down to the canvas. But Storley didn’t just hang out there – he stayed active, raining down strikes from the top position. It was a true showcase of his well-rounded skills.
When round two kicked off, Storley turned up the intensity. He wasted no time in securing another takedown, and then he unleashed a flurry of powerful strikes that left Ward looking a bit rattled. Ward found himself trapped without a clear escape route, taking a series of hard hits before referee Jason Herzog decided to step in and stop the fight.
Ward didn’t hesitate to express his disagreement with the referee’s decision, but upon closer inspection, it’s pretty clear that the stoppage was the right call.

This victory marks a significant moment for “Storm.” It’s his first win since his tough loss to the current Welterweight champion, Yaroslav Amosov, in their title unification bout at Bellator 291 earlier this year. With this strong showing and his No. 1 ranking, Storley has firmly placed himself at the forefront of the contenders’ list. As for Ward, the defeat put an end to his impressive three-fight winning streak, which he had built up since his comeback to action in February 2022 after a five-year break.
