Rising UFC light heavyweight contender Ilir Latifi and Ovince Saint Preux squared off on the UFC on FOX 28 main card at Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. Ovince Saint Preux (22-10) was coming in on a 3 fight win streak, while Ilir Latifi (13-5) came in with a notable win over Australian up and comer Tyson Pedro in a groundout decision.
Ilir Latifi choked out former title challenger Ovince Saint Preux via the first-round guillotine at UFC Orlando.
After a bit of a feel out process during the opening round, Latifi dropped OSP and pressed forward to try and finish him. Throwing a barrage of punches to finish OSP, he then grabbed OSP’s neck and started pulling on it. From there, “Sledgehammer” squeezed for the standing guillotine choke and put the OSP to sleep.
Ilir Latifi now overall UFC record to 7-3. Following the destructive performance, the Swede turned to light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier who was ringside, reporting. After the fight, DC responded, claiming Latifi would be no match for him, despite the immense amount of respect held for him.
