Vitor Belfort will fight Hasim Rahman Jr. in a boxing match
Vitor Belfort will square off opposite Rahman Jr. in the double main event at “DAZN X Series 002” on Oct. 15 in Sheffield, England. Rahman Jr. made the announcement at the inaugural MF & DAZN: X Series during the YouTube sensation KSI’s event on Aug. 27.
“It’s going to be a great show and I’m looking to put on a hell of a performance. My main goal when I put on a pair of gloves was to become a world champion like my father was so nothing is ever going to deter me from that. If this going to catapult me to be able to make the bigger fights at the end of the day, then I’ll go ahead and that route.”
Rahman Jr. found Belfort after the Jake Paul fight got scrapped
Initially, Rahman Jr. got slated for a matchup with social media influencer Jake Paul in August after Tommy Fury pulled out of a boxing match with Paul due to visa issues that kept him from entering the United States.
Paul decided to call off the entire event, which featured Amanda Serrano as the double main event on the card, once Rahman Jr. made it clear that he would be unable to make the contracted weight. Paul came out to bash Rahman Jr. for his lack of professionalism but assured the fans he would return soon.
Rahman Jr. will go into the bout with a professional record of 12-1. He’s coming off the first loss of his career, which came against Kenzie Morrison, the son of former heavyweight boxing champion Tommy Morrison.
