If Robbie Lawler rolled into a ball and flung himself into the face of Rory MacDonald would anyone really question him? Lawler and MacDonald gave MMA some old school video game level violence during their five round war for the UFC’s 170 pound belt. Lawler is the Street Fighter II player that will just keeping moving forward and spam attacks at you for 25 minutes.
Unfortunately for MacDonald his title fight with Lawler was not contested under the unified Street Fighter tournament rules. Best two out of three rounds until your health bar gives out may have given the Canadian a better shot versus the mutated super human that Lawler has morphed into over his UFC career. Against Carlos Condit, Lawler is going to probably bust out the electrical energy attacks in order to defend his belt.
