Cain Velasquez’s defense has come up with a new plan to get him out of jail.

Velasquez’s Attorney Continues The Fight

The third time was not the charm for the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, who was denied bail once again by Santa Clara County Superior Court. Three strikes may be considered an out, but Velasquez’s defense attorney Mark Geragos is still at bat to get his client home to his family.

Geragos is now asking for “immediate release on a reasonable bail or remand the matter to the superior court for an expedited hearing” and for the court to “grant such other appropriate relief.”

Along with this, the defense would file a 246-page petition to the California Courts of Appeal. The latest installment was first reported by MMA Junkie.

Past Attempts

Before this, the defense had put out quite the series of stipulations to get Velasquez bailed out. This would include but not limited to $1 million bail amount, relocation out of state, 24/7 in-person supervision and electronic monitoring. Unfortunately for team Velasquez, Judge Shelyna Brown just wouldn’t go for it, citing high-risk analysis.

Speaking of high-risk, this case would come to be after Velasquez allegedly hunted down his 4 year-old son’s accused molester, Harry Goularte. Goularte’s step-father Paul Bender would allegedly be shot in the arm by Velasquez in the midst of the car chase.

Cain Velasquez has been incarcerated ever since being arrested on February 28th.
