Brock Lesnar Test Sample Recently Gone Missing, But USADA Claims It’s No Big Deal
Brock Lesnar’s test sample vanished from USADA database last week. The discrepancy in the number of drug tests caused a lot of controversies, which flooded social networks.

Twitter user @dimspace noted some discrepancies in Brock Lesnar’s database. He claimed one of “The Conqueror” samples mysteriously vanished.

Yet, USADA spokesperson Adam Woullard claims everything happened due to “a technical error”. (h/t MMAFighting.com)
“USADA updates the Athlete Test History page of the UFC/USADA website on a weekly basis,” the statement read. “During an update on the week of October 15th, we experienced a technical issue that resulted in the information on the page being displayed incorrectly. The correct test history for the athlete is 1 test, not 2. The issue has been fixed and the testing numbers on the website are all accurate. We are still investigating the specific technical issue that led to the error.”
Jeff Nowitzky, UFC vice president of health and performance, states USADA’s information is always accurate. He accepted Woullard’s explanation. Nowitzky also said he had access to a more specific database than the public user.
”I have access to a more specific database than the public, which displays the date a sample is collected, what type of sample it is and what the results are as soon as they are available,” Novitzky said. “The public website, as I understand it, indicated there had been two tests during this last quarter, and it recently dropped to one. I have always seen one test in this quarter for Lesnar. It was a urine test and it came back negative.”
A missed sample would have never been controversial if Brock Lesnar hasn’t had a rich history with USADA! The anti-doping agency announced a new rule in 2016. It obligates returning fighters to remain in the USADA testing pool for at least four months.
Brock Lesnar last fought versus Mark Hunt at UFC 200. He initially won the match via unanimous decision. Yet, it was overturned to no contest when Brock’s samples were tested positive on clomiphene.
Lesnar received one-year suspension by NSAC and USADA. Yet, it was later frozen because “The Conqueror” notified UFC about his second retirement on February 14, 2017.
His post-fight UFC 226 “sh*t show” from July 7, 2018 made many fighters angry, especially Stipe Miocic. Let’s remember, “The Conqueror” stormed the cage after the main event of the evening and challenged Daniel Cormier, the Heavyweight champion. Since then, the match between “DC” and Lesnar was mentioned many times. Yet, the bout was never officially scheduled.
Brock Lesnar re-entered testing pool on July 8, 2018. He will be eligible for UFC return on January 8, 2019. If his samples remain clear, of course!
