Mya Lesnar, the daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion and current WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar, made headlines after setting a new Colorado State University record in the shot put.
Lesnar, who is a junior at CSU, set a new school record with a throw of 18.50 meters. As a result, the 21-year-old was named the school’s Student-Athlete of the Week. She celebrated her accomplishment on social media along with a video of her impressive feat.
“A new PR and a new school record!! Happy with a strong start to my season,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Congratulations to @csutrackfieldxc’s Mya Lesnar on being named this week’s @waterpik Student-Athlete of the Week! Mya broke the school record in the women’s shot put with a mark of 18.50 meters & currently leads the NATION!” the CSU athletics department wrote on its official Instagram.

Lesnar previously attended Arizona State before transferring to Colorado State. In 2023, she earned All-Mountain West honors and placed first in the weight throw at the indoor Mountain West Championships and third in the shot put at the indoor and outdoor conference championships.
Clearly, the apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree.
Her father, Brock Lesnar, is a former NCAA Division I national wrestling champion and a two-time Big Ten champion. Following his collegiate career, the ‘Beast Incarnate’ made the move to sports entertainment, debuting for World Wrestling Entertainment in 2022.
In less than six months, we would capture the WWE Championship, defeating The Rock at Summerslam. After becoming one of the biggest names in the industry, Lesnar walked away from professional wrestling to pursue mixed martial arts.
He defeated Randy Couture at UFC 91 to win the heavyweight world championship in just his third fight with the promotion. Lesnar has since gone back to WWE where he resumed his role as one of the biggest names in the business.
