UFC prospect Themba Gorimbo got the surprise of a lifetime in the form of a visit from the most electrifying man in sports entertainment.

The Zimbabwe native scored his first career win inside the Octagon in May, securing a unanimous decision victory over Takashi Sato. Shortly after the victory, ‘The Answer’ made headlines after revealing that he went into his final week of preparations for the fight with nothing more than $7 in his bank account. Gorimbo also revealed that some of his teammates, including Colby Covington, had brought him meals to make it through fight week.

Gorimbo’s story immediately went viral and got the attention of one of the most prominent figures in entertainment today, Dwayne Johnson. Better known by the millions… And millions of his fans as The Rock.

Reaching out on social media, Johnson was admittedly moved by Gorimbo’s story, knowing all too well what it feels like to get by with nothing more than a few dollars in your pocket. Johnson tagged Gorimbo in his response offering to help the African fighter out.

“I once had $7 bucks too. I’ve been there on that grind. Got your back, brother. I’ll help. You got this. I’ll be in touch @TheAnswerMMA #hardestworkersintheroom,” Johnson tweeted.

Dwayne Johnson Makes Good on His Promise, Surprises Themba Gorimbo

Recently, Dwayne Johnson made good on his promise, surprising Gorimbo at MMA Masters in Miami. The video clip, shared by The Rock on Twitter, is an incredibly heartwarming moment. Something that is sorely lacking in the world of mixed martial arts.

However, the story doesn’t stop there. Per recent media reports, Johnson also gifted Themba Gorimbo with a fully furnished house in Miami, ensuring the fighter will never have to sleep at the gym again.
