Ryan will join The Rock in an upcoming movie
The reigning Bellator heavyweight champion broke the news on social media, revealing his decision to take a three-month break from MMA and move to Vancouver to be part of the cast for the movie “The Smashing Machine,” a biopic about Mark Kerr.
“Putting the mma game on pause for a bit as I head to Vancouver for about 3 months. Excited to be a part of an amazing project by Benny Safdie #thesmashingmachine . Giving ode to a couple legends of the sport, @markkerrtsm @markcolemanufc the highs and the lows that come with this crazy ass sport. 🤘🏼 @therock,” Bader wrote on Instagram.
Bader will join the cast of characters alongside famous WWE legend and Hollywood actor, The Rock, who would portray Kerr in the movie.
The Rock is now working on his MMA skills
The Rock has begun training MMA in preparation for his portrayal of the former UFC heavyweight champion.
The upcoming film will focus on Kerr’s life, struggles, career and achievements. That said, The Rock was well aware that he had to intensify his MMA skills to play the role of Kerr as effectively and convincing as possible.
