Luke Rockhold isn’t holding back when it comes to talking about Sean Strickland.
The former UFC Middleweight Champion was originally booked to face Strickland in his return, last November. However, the fight would fall through with Rockhold suffering an injury. The two wouldn’t end up crossing paths, but they would continue to talk trash about each other.
Rockhold Thinks Strickland Is On Drugs
Rockhold currently has the last word, ripping insults at Strickland, saying he’s a drug user.
“Yeah, I don’t have a lot of respect for the man or what that man says,” Rockhold told Submission Radio. “I don’t think anybody does. I don’t think he really knows what he’s talking about.
“When you’ve done that many drugs, I don’t know if things really come off clearly and if there’s much of a thought process to what he does. I think that’s why’s he so effective. It’s cause he doesn’t think, he doesn’t know. He just fights with stupidity and it actually benefits him to a certain extent.”
Strickland Lacks ‘Killer Instinct’
The former UFC Champion wasn’t impressed at all when it came to Strickland’s last performance. He would take Jack Hermansson to the distance, jab after jab. Of course, Rockhold didn’t think much of it.
Strickland is known for saying how he’d like to be the first to kill someone in Octagon along with wanting to put Rockhold to sleep permanently. As wild as ‘Tarzan’ can be, Rockhold doesn’t believe he has a ‘killer instinct’.
“I think he fought f*cking scared,” Rockhold continued. “I watched his last fight and I think he fought scared. The pressure starts to get to you when you get to the top and you get to that potential, those title fights… he didn’t let it go. He didn’t earn f*cking anybody’s respect. He didn’t put himself in that position where it’s like, ‘f*ck, you know, it’s like, that’s the guy’.
“He turns it on at the last second when he’s dominating a fight and he can’t f*cking, he doesn’t have that f*cking mentality, that f*cking killer instinct. If you want to charge me in the parking lot, you better have the killer instinct, because I have it. I’m not one to f*ck with.”
Luke Rockhold may have talked a bit about Sean Strickland, but he has his focus on fighting Paulo Costa next. Like Strickland, the former UFC king isn’t exactly a fan of him either.
