Ryan Garcia and his ex-wife have released statements about the boxer’s well-being.

On April 20, ‘King Ryan’ will challenge Devin Haney for his WBC super lightweight world title inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Haney is arguably the toughest test of Garcia’s boxing career, as ‘The Dream’ holds a 31-0 record, including wins against George Kambosos Jr. x2, Vasyl Lomachenko, and Regis Prograis.

Unfortunately, Garcia’s boxing skills haven’t been the primary focus during the fight buildup thus far. Instead, the combat sports community has become worried about the 25-year-old’s mental health, as he’s shown a behavior change that has concerned his supporters.

Earlier this month, Garcia’s ex-wife, Andrea Celina, had this to say in a post on her temporary Instagram story:

“If all my followers who are believers can you please pray for Ryan  We are not together and i’ve been in contact with him and he mad seem fine but he is not. I know in my heart he is being heavily oppressed. This is not a troll im genuinely concerned and so is all his family members we are not part of any of this and want him to get better but this is REAL. Pray for him.”

Ryan Garcia releases a statement to “explain what’s going on”

Ryan Garcia created widespread concern by posting a peculiar message on social media about him dying. As a result, the combat sports community questioned whether Garcia’s life was in danger. The 25-year-old professional boxer cleared the air by saying this in a video posted on Twitter:

“Hey guys, it’s me, Ryan. I’m coming on here to explain what’s going on. I’m not in possession of my phone. I can’t get access to my Instagram. My cards are locked, and I’m just being real taken advantage. I personally wanted just to send out a video to the people that love me and my fans and family that’s concerned. I’m okay. I’m not dead. I believe in Jesus. All those are lies. They tried to put me in jail. They’re blocking my cards, I can’t access my money. Nobody is hitting me back. I don’t know what’s going on, but just know I’m okay.”

Ryan Garcia’s explanation created more questions than answers.

With that said, the California native recently confirmed his fight against Devin Haney will take place on April 20. Garcia looks to continue building momentum after bouncing back from his first professional boxing loss with an eight-round knockout win against Oscar Duarte in December 2023.
