I feel that if aliens landed on the planet and decided to talk to the Russian government to get a further understanding of the human species, it wouldn’t necessarily be accurate or even believable. Those same aliens may just depart the planet under the belief that every human is just rapidly approaching a senseless and humiliating death. If that did happen and the aliens had some nefarious plan to take over the planet, then Russians would have prevented them from changing the course of humanity. Those guys would be the saviors for an entire civilization. Wow, my Russian neighbor would never let me live that down.
