Nate Diaz wasn’t at 100% when he fought Jake Paul. At least, that’s what Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has to say.

After 15 years of fighting inside the Octagon, the UFC superstar made his professional boxing debut last month. Diaz would take on a big payday against ‘The Problem Child’ Paul, ultimately losing on the scorecards after 10 rounds of back-and-forth action.

Rampage Recalls Post-Fight Convo With Diaz

Diaz has never been one to make excuses for his losses, but after the fight, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jackson suspected something was wrong with him.

“Nate always been one of the realest OG’s. I’m going for him but he just didn’t look like himself,” Jackson said on The Jaxxon Podcast. “Then, I went in his locker room later. I don’t know if he said this in the press, but he was injured. He had a pulled muscle in his back.

“He ain’t gonna say it and that’s respect. I can tell something, I said, ‘man, what’s wrong with you?’ cause one of his pecs was smaller than other. He’s like, ‘oh man, I f*cked up. I got a pinched nerve in my back.'”

Respect

Diaz could have withdrawn from the Paul fight due to the aforementioned back injury, but he kept on trucking, ultimately making it to the dance in Dallas, Texas.

‘Rampage’ has all the respect in the world for the Stockton-native because he didn’t go public about his bad back.

“I respect that because I got excuses for all my losses, every last one of ’em,” Jackson said with a laugh. “You lose respect when you talk about your excuses, though. But, I do got excuses for all my losses.”
