Paul Daley says Dana White cutting him from UFC was personal

Paul Daley, damn. Dude came into the UFC like some British comic book superhero and left the organization like a friggin’ Greek tragedy. With one sucker punch, Daley went from welterweight contender to dude that got a verbal lashing from Dana White inside the octagon. Look, Gilbert Yvel knocked a referee unconscious and then soccer-kicked him on the floor and even he’s still fighting for UFC. It’s arguable whether Daley got a raw deal, but in a recent interview with FightHype, Semtex claims that his exit from the UFC wasn’t business, but personal.

“I think there is more to it for whatever reason. I don’t know, you would have to ask Dana. I can’t help but think it’s a bit personal, as the UFC has fighters on their roster that have done far worse things in the sport.”

“I would love to fight Koscheck again, really, I would. I know it was a dominate [sic] performance by him, but I know I am coming back much stronger and with a much clear picture for victory.”

To be fair, when Babalu held the choke on David Heath at UFC 74, not only was the dude kicked out of UFC but he was also banned from the organization. Months later, he became the Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion. There’s always an MMA afterlife once you’ve been permanently barred from UFC and sometimes it leads right back to the organization (just ask Tito Ortiz). [Source]
