Israel Adesanya is not a fan of Francis Ngannou getting paid $600K for his guaranteed purse as the UFC Heavyweight Champion.

Unlike Ngannou, the UFC Middleweight king just signed a new deal with the UFC. The recently inked contract would make him one of the highest-paid fighters on the roster. While he is happy with how much he is getting paid, he can’t say the same for his fellow friend and UFC champion, Ngannou.

Adesanya Speaks Out

From the sand mines of Cameroon to the title of ‘baddest man on the planet’, Adesanya believes the only thing missing in the story of ‘The Predator’ is a better paycheck. At the end of his UFC contract, Adesanya believes Ngannou holds some ground to negotiate a better deal. Especially, since he’s coming off a win over Ciryl Gane

“His story is crazy,” Adesanya told Brian J. Roberts. “Like when you listen to it on Joe Rogan and when he tells you at himself, his story is nuts. You’re just like… what you’ve gone through.

“That’s why I’m so happy for him where he’s at now. The position of power he’s in right now, I’m so happy for him because he deserves it after everything has been through.”

Adesanya Says Ngannou’s UFC Pay Is ‘Atrocious’

Adesanya would add on to this, deeming Ngannou’s pay as unacceptable.

“Even with the UFC on his old contract… it’s atrocious, that’s stupid that the heavyweight champion of the f*cking UFC is getting paid $600,000 to fight….

“That should not be a thing. That shouldn’t be a sentence. That’s like, what the fuck is that? How did we get here? Well, guess what? People make mistakes. The UFC is filled with humans; human errors is a thing. Ego get involved. But the thing about mistakes is they can be rectified.”

‘The Last Stylebender’ does believe this is a problem that can be solved by the UFC. Adesanya hopes they ‘rectify’ this mistake for the sake of his good friend, Francis Ngannou.
