Former UFC superstar Nate Diaz has confirmed drug testing will be done for his upcoming fight with Jake Paul even if he doesn’t believe in its effectiveness.

Mixed martial arts veteran Nate Diaz started his professional career in Oct. 2004. He joined the UFC banner in Jun. 2007 and got off to a successful start against Manny Gamburyan. The Stockton-based grappling aficionado quickly became a fan favorite for his brash and charismatic personality. His celebrity skyrocketed after he tapped out former two-division champion Conor McGregor at UFC 196 in Mar. 2016.

Diaz departed the organization after completing his contract against Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 last September. He scored a fourth-round submission to bow out in the winning column.

Nate Diaz expects Jake Paul to be on steroids & wants a rematch clause

In a recent Fight Hub TV video on YouTube, Nate Diaz shared his thoughts on having a drug testing system in place for the upcoming boxing match with Paul.

“Yeah [I want drug testing] but I don’t care either way,” said Diaz. “Everybody I’ve been fighting my whole career has been on steroids, they know how to pass the test and they will be testing in this fight. We’re going to be testing.”

Diaz gave his take on including a rematch clause for the fight.

“I’ve been through hella contracts where it’s just on and on and you can’t get out so I’m like let’s just, doing things one step at a time. If we need to rematch so we need a rematch. I ain’t hiding from nothing like that and I want rematch if I lose too.”

Diaz left the door open for a return to the UFC

The 38-year-old expressed his interest in making a comeback to the UFC and potentially fighting for a world title.

“That’s an option UFC. I would like to at the end of the day I want to go back and fight for a world title and if not, I’m going to have to make my own world title and make the best kind of come to me but I would like to be back in the UFC. Right now, the UFC has the best fighters in the world and have for years so I’m trying to fight the best.”

Diaz will face Paul in the boxing ring on Aug. 5 at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas.
