Nate Diaz Wants To Defend Title Against “Gangster” Jorge Masvidal
TUF 5 winner Nate Diaz returned in a big fashion with a win over Anthony Pettis in the co-main event of UFC 241 last night (Saturday, August 17, 2019).
After three amazing rounds, Nate earned a unanimous decision victory over the former 155-pound champ. Diaz was dominant, he hurt Pettis on a few occasions and nearly finished the combat.
After the match, Diaz called out Jorge Masvidal, the Octagon warrior who turned the lights out on Ben Askren after only 5 seconds. Nate is looking for a big name. Jorge was in the crowd, and he smiled and nodded a few times in approval.
"I want to defend my title against Jorge. He's a gangster, but he ain't no West Coast gangster."@NateDiaz209, welcome back! #UFC241 pic.twitter.com/Y5DdHcnwzO

“The reason I was off cause everybody sucks. There is nobody to fight. But with this belt, I wanna defend it against Jorge Masvidal, he had a good last fight. Good last fight. I respect to the man but there’s no gangster in this game anymore. There is nobody who does it right but me and him. So I know my man is a gangster but ain’t no west coast gangster.”
Here’s Masvidal’s reaction:
