Nate Diaz Outstrikes Anthony Pettis At UFC 241

UFC 241 PPV (pay-per-view) goes down live tonight (August 17, 2019) from inside Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Welcome to the Welterweight combat between legendary trash-talker and BJJ black belt Nate Diaz and an entertaining striker, the former UFC/WEC 155-pound king Anthony “Showtime” Pettis.

Nate Diaz exits first, he wears a white hoodie and black trousers, and white shorts under. “The Stockton Slugger” enters the Octagon after 1093 days! Anthony Pettis gets out next, he is in a white T-shirt and black trunks. Our ref is Mike Beltran. The two will finally settle their beef tonight! Here we go!

Round 1

Teep kick Nate. Right high kick Pettis, but Diaz survives, Nate goes forward again. Three minutes left until the end of the round. Tactical war on both sides.

Fighters in the clinch again, short strikes Diaz. Knee to the thigh Nate, big punches Nate, but he ate a knee. “Showtime” attacks with a jab, Nate feints a lot.

Round 2

Wow, it was a good strike by Nate, Pettis goes back on the fence. Strong left hand by Pettis. Front kick attempt Pettis, but he misses, Diaz goes forward but eats a big uppercut on the way. Diaz is trying hard to get close but Pettis circles.

1-2 Pettis, Diaz covers up. Mike Beltran stops the contest, I think it was a finger to the eye. Yes, but Diaz says he’s fine.

Teep kick Pettis, he misses left high kick by a hair, Diaz fires back with a punch. Nate clinches up. 1-2 Nate. Diaz eats blows to the head over and over.

Diaz has his back, this is a big problem, now Pettis goes down, Nate ends up in the side control, he pounds Pettis, but “Showtime” got up, big knee by Diaz. Pettis is against the fence, dirty strikes by Diaz, and a strong right hand to the chin!!!

Right elbow Diaz. Diaz pounds Anthony over and over, but a good left-hand stops Diaz. Nate constantly pushes Pettis against the fence, the knee of the clinch Pettis, Nate fires back in the same way.

Knee to the body Diaz, he’s cut. Left uppercuts landed clean by Nate. So many punches by Diaz but Pettis survives. 10-9 Diaz.

Round 3

Diaz with a teep kick, Pettis lands an uppercut and a few strong strikes, this turns into a wild brawl. Left high kick Pettis. Diaz presses him against the cage again. 1-2 Pettis, and more jabs. Anthony is trying to stay away, but Nate pressures him.

Fighters in the clinch, Nate is one the fence, but he rotates and escapes. Left hand Diaz.

1-2 Diaz this was nasty, Pettis counters with a spinning back fist, three knees to the head. Pettis is down, and Diaz mauls him hard, Beltran is not stopping the match, Pettis survives!!!

Diaz is trying to take his back, this is the world of Nate Diaz! Wow, Anthony transitions and now he is in the full guard. Short punches Diaz, elbow Pettis. Diaz went for the Omoplata but Pettis slips out.

Big left elbow by Pettis, he gets up. Anthony again ends up in the full guard. Triangle attempt, Pettis defends, but Nate ends up on his back, Nate rains big shots. Oh, man, those strikes are so strong!

Nate controls the opponent’s back, traps his hand too, sets everything up for a rear-naked choke, but Pettis slips out again and ends up in the full guard. Triangle attempt, the bouts ends. 10-9 Diaz.

Final Result: Nate Diaz defeats Anthony Pettis (30-27 x 2, 29-28)
