Say what you want about his age, but Mike Tyson is as scary as ever.

The legendary boxer hasn’t fought professionally in nearly two decades and that changes this summer as Tyson takes on social media sensation, the 9-1 Jake Paul in an event like no other on July 20th. Old school meets new on the biggest stage possible as the fighters are set to collide at the AT&T Center in Dallas, Texas with Netflix streaming the fight live worldwide.

There are a lot of doubts being thrown out there on whether or not Tyson can keep up with the much younger Paul, especially with his 58th birthday coming up at the end of June. Tyson has so far impressed the masses with his work on the pads, showing he’s still got some speed and power left in him from his days as one of the “most ruthless” fighters the sport of boxing has ever seen.

Mike Tyson’s Mindset Has Him Ready To Feast

With all kinds of questions being asked about his physical state, famous podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan takes a deep dive on where Mike Tyson’s mentality lies ahead of his upcoming showdown with 27 year-old Paul.

“Mike Tyson’s mind has switched over into war,” Rogan said on his podcast. “He was doing this interview and someone said to him, he goes, ‘You look like you’re in your twenties, what are you doing?’ [Tyson] goes, ‘I just eat raw meat’. He goes, ‘You’re eating raw meat?’ He goes, ‘Yeah, I’m eating raw meat… because that’s what I’m gonna eat when I fight. I’m gonna eat him. It’s raw meat.’

“I was like, Jesus Christ. He’s in this f****** mode. He’s in that ‘God of War’ mode and that he still got that in him. And I’m telling you, if you keep giving that guy hormones and you keep giving that guy supplements and he’s constantly training…”

While he’s far past his prime, there’s obviously no denying Tyson’s body of work is levels above Paul, whose resume includes wins over influencers, MMA fighters and a few actual boxers. “Iron” Mike has a record of 50-6 as a pro boxer with 44 KO’s to his name. In his heyday, Tyson became the WBC Heavyweight Champion of the world at only 20 years of age, the youngest ever to accomplish such a feat.

“If I Was Jake Paul Right Now, I Would Be Sh*tting My Pants”

Rogan, the former host of reality TV show “Fear Factor”, says fear should definitely a factor for Paul as Tyson returns to his gritty and violent roots of fighting in the ring.

“Bro, he’s in savage mode right now. He’s in savage mode. If I was Jake Paul right now, I would be sh*tting my pants,” Rogan added. “It’s all the experiences that he has had as a conqueror. You have to take those into consideration. When a man has smashed men before, just smashed men, like, when no one can stand in front of him, that is in his mind still. That’s in there. There’s a dark chamber in his mind that he can open up and I think he’s got it open.

“The question is: can his body move along with it?” Rogan pondered of Tyson. “But that part of his mind, like, you’re clearly seeing. He’s terrifying when he’s in the zone.”

We all know Mike Tyson’s got the mental game, but how will his physical form hold up in his fight against Jake Paul? All those questions and more will be answered on July 20th.
