Jorge Masvidal has been booked into jail.

The UFC superstar was arrested by Miami Beach Police on Wednesday night. He would be charged with aggravated battery with a mask and criminal mischief. This would occur days after his altercation with Colby Covington outside of Papi Steak restaurant. News of Masvidal’s arrest was first reported by Andy Slater

The incident between the two would come weeks after Covington dominated Masvidal in the Octagon at UFC 272.

Masvidal In Handcuffs

Masvidal was seen sporting handcuffs behind his back in a short video. He’d even jog to the police station in an attempt to escape the press. Unfortunately for him, he was still caught on camera.

Bail

Of course, ‘Gamebred’ wouldn’t stay locked up for long. Masvidal was released from Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on $15,000 bond, according to a report from MMA Junkie

More Details

Things could get really bad for the UFC Welterweight, if he’s convicted on these two charges. Masvidal could be facing up to 15 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine for second-degree felony aggravated battery with more potential penalties from the criminal mischief charge.

Here is a look at the official report made by Miami Beach Police.

Colby Covington, or should we say ‘unnamed victim’ had his name redacted from the report. The victim invoked “Marsy’s Law” to protect their information. However, it wouldn’t mean much as Masvidal spoke about him over social media, following the attack.

There is also two new details that have emerged from the incident. The victim told the police that his $90K Rolex watch was damaged and there was $15K done in damage by Masvidal. It was allegedly scratched and bent in the fray.

Police also reported that Masvidal was booked with stitches on his right hand.
