It seems as if UFC legend Mark Coleman will be the next former MMA star to hit the boxing ring.
Over the past several years the growth of celebrity boxing matches has been exponential. With the rise of fighters such as Jake Paul, Logan Paul, KSI, and others, fans are seeing more professional athletes flocking to these celebrity-boxing-style matches. Fighters such as Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, Anthony Pettis, and more have decided to take a break from their MMA roots and hit the square circle. Now another former retired UFC fighter will be following suit.

Mark Coleman wants to try out celebrity boxing, gets called out by Conor McGregor
Coleman has been showing himself in the boxing ring quite a bit on his social media pages. He has changed his lifestyle following a heart attack and is on The Carnivore Diet. He follows the teachings of the Liver King and posts about being a recovering alcoholic. Now with his newfound health, he wants to try boxing.
Coleman last fought professionally in MMA back in February 2010. In his last bout, he lost to Randy Couture by a second-round submission. Back in his heyday, he fought some of the best fighters MMA fans have ever seen, including Stephan Bonnar, Shogun Rua, Fedor Emelianenko, Mirko Cro Cop, and more. Now another UFC superstar is interested in trying their hands against the 58-year-old. Conor McGregor called him out on Twitter.
It is highly unlikely that Conor McGregor will be the opponent that Coleman will be up against when he fights, however, this is not the first boxer that McGregor has called out this week. He took a shot at Canelo Alvarez also on Twitter.
There are not a lot of details about Coleman’s upcoming match except that will be taking place on October 14 at a location that has not yet been determined. The match will consist of three, 2-minute rounds and will air on Fite TV. The opponent is not yet named.
