Kelvin Gastelum vs. Sean Brady Confirmed For UFC Fight Night
“I am fighting Sean Brady December 2nd,” Gastelum announced. “Location TBD, but it is December 2nd. I think it’s gonna be an ABC card, so they’re stacking this card with big, huge fights. Mine just got announced December 2nd versus Sean Brady. It sucks to lose the opportunity against another top contender like Shavkat, but this is how these things go. I got injured, I had to pull out, and I don’t blame him for not accepting my fight. I just lost out on a good opportunity.”
Gastelum’s past weigh-in difficulties have been well-documented. Some are even doubting that he can consistently make the welterweight limit in his return to the weight class against Brady. Gastelum made a bold claim about what fans will see on weigh-in day.
“I know there’s people doubting me, I know there’s people doubting that I’m gonna make the weight,” Gastelum admitted. “Shoot, I think even some of the bosses are doubting me. I’m gonna prove everybody wrong, I’ll tell you that. I’m working with the UFC nutritionists. They’re giving me plans and I’m gonna follow it to the tee. I have no doubt I’m gonna make the weight on December 1st. I’m gonna look incredible, I’m gonna look shredded.”
Still Going For UFC Gold
Gastelum went on to make it clear that his ultimate goal is to capture UFC gold.
“Right now, I’m not at the weight I want to be, but this is why I’m here,” Gastelum said. “I’m back from my trip and ready to get to work, guys. I’m ready to get to work, I’m ready to make a statement on December 2nd, and start another title run. It starts with Sean Brady.”
