Jorge Masvidal has revealed the end of his retirement from combat sports competition.
Following two failed bids for UFC gold, and suffering his fourth straight loss in his April 2023 bout with Gilbert Burns, Masvidal told Joe Rogan and the fight world that his time inside the Octagon was over. Since that announcement, “Gamebred” has admitted he had the itch to return to action.
Well, it looks like the OG BMF titleholder is planning his return.

Jake Paul Makes Bold Claim On Masvidal’s Return Fight
Social media star-turned boxer Jake Paul was quick to chime in on Masvidal’s announcement. He took to his X account claiming that “Gamebred” will box his UFC foe Nate Diaz in a since-deleted post.

“Yeah, yeah,” Paul wrote. “Going to box Nate Diaz… whatever. Come see me when Dana gives you permission.”
Whether or not Paul mentioned this bout tongue-in-cheek is unknown at this time. What we do know is that Diaz has insisted that he’ll be returning to the UFC one day. The Stockton native has shown loyalty to the UFC despite choosing to test free agency, which led to a lucrative boxing match against Paul back in August 2023. Paul won that bout via unanimous decision.
There is still a lot to unpack with Masvidal’s one-word social media post, such as whether or not he’ll be returning to the UFC or if he’ll be able to dabble into other ventures for his fighting comeback. Back in 2022, Masvidal’s team felt confident they reached a deal that would allow “Gamebred” to finish his career with the UFC. It’ll be interesting to see if he’ll be inside the Octagon for his second retirement down the road, but for now, expect Masvidal to trade fists once again.
