Joanna Jędrzejczyk thinks the ceiling is very high for Kayla Harrison.
JJ Praises Harrison
The former UFC Strawweight Champion and the 2x PFL Lightweight Champion share the same roof at American Top Team. After seeing her work inside and outside the cage, Joanna believes Harrison is the next big thing when it comes to women’s MMA.
The only thing of concern now, is where the free agent will land. PFL? Bellator? UFC? Jędrzejczyk has no idea what’s in store for the Judoka. All the UFC star knows is that her teammate Harrison will soon become a big star herself.
“I don’t know what’s good for her,” Jędrzejczyk told Helen Yee. “I know she’s smart. She’s super-big inspiration to all of us. when discussing Harrison’s free agency. “This is what I love—when someone is focused on the prize. And she’s definitely one of the hardest-working athletes in the gym in general. (transcribed by MMA News)
“She’s a (2x) Olympian. She’s special. It’s good to have her here. She’s tough physically, mentally, she doesn’t give up and she deserves to get paid… soon she’s going to be the name in women’s MMA.
Harrison To UFC?
Harrison has yet to sign with a promotion to start off her 2022 run. After months of being a free agent, Harrison is starting to get real sick and tired of it.
The UFC would be an ideal way to bring her into the mainstream and really increase her star power, but Joanna Jędrzejczyk wants to see her get paid. Let’s just say the former PFL Champion wouldn’t be getting giant million dollar paychecks in her first year in the UFC.
“I would love to see her in the UFC, but like I said, she has to get paid,” Jędrzejczyk continued. “She won PFL two times. She won a million bucks a few times, you know?
“She doesnt’ have to fight for small money. She always brings the extra attention. She always perform very well. So she needs to get paid, and I feel the UFC should consider having Kayla Harrison.”
