Jamahal Hill, the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, is running out of patience.
Hill became the UFC’s light heavyweight champion back in January with a decision win over Glover Teixeira in a one-sided fight. Once he became the champ, the plan was for Hill to face Prochazka – who vacated the belt due to an injury – but there has been no talk of when he will be healthy.
However, the fight between Hill and Prochazka has still not been made so the light heavyweight champ is ready to face someone else.
‘Next Man Up’
“I heard the same thing y’all heard, summertime. It’s still, where you at though? Where you at though? I mean I haven’t heard anything, I was waiting for the call, I’m ready to go. At this point, it’s just, I don’t care, it’s next man up now,” Hill said to The Schmo. “Whoever peaks their head out first, whoever separates themself from the pack, whoever solidifies (themselves) as the number one contender, whoever the f**k they send. It is who what it is, send whoever, just give me a name, I don’t care who it is.”
Just recently, Procházka marked the one-year milestone of his remarkable championship victory at UFC 275 in Singapore. Reflecting on this achievement, he expressed his determination to reclaim the title in the coming months, without divulging an exact timeframe. Fans eagerly await further announcements and updates from the dynamic fighter.
Today marks exactly one year since winning the UFC title. Since then, I have changed many things in my life, but the Path and Passion to be a true Champion and Master of the field has burned much brighter in me. In a few months I'll take the title clean and clear.

When asked when he may return, Jamahal Hill says the UFC hasn’t told him when he will be booked. With that, this has been a frustrating time for Hill as he wanted to be an active champion, but that won’t be the case.
“Hopefully it’s somewhere in September or October. I really, really, really wouldn’t want to wait until those times, which now I don’t really have much of a choice,” Hill added. “But, I really don’t want to wait past that. I wanted to fight at least two more times this year as champion and I don’t know bro, it’s not my timetable, I’m working on other people’s schedule right now. I’m ready to go, I’m ready to fight and just waiting for a name.”
When and who Hill will defend his belt first is uncertain, but he hopes he will get booked in the next few weeks.
