The JacksonWink camp believes the legitimacy of mixed martial arts (MMA) could be called into question after Holly Holm’s controversial loss to Ketlen Vieira.

JacksonWink speaks out against Holly Holm’s loss

This past weekend at the UFC Apex, Holm and Vieira went all five rounds in the main event that saw the latter get their hand raised via split decision.

The social media reaction to the decision was largely disagreeing, suggesting Holm should’ve gotten the winning nod. Of course, there are also those who believe Vieira rightfully got the victory and those who simply don’t know how to score it.

Of course, Holly Holm and longtime camp JacksonWink believe they were robbed of a victory. Taking to Instagram, JacksonWink released a statement, suggesting judges need to be held accountable for bad decisions.

They also question why decisions are rarely overturned today. Check out the full statement below:

“Judges need to be held accountable for making mistakes, just like everyone else is held accountable, penalized, and punished for wrong doings… Judges are not above everyone else…

“Why are their decisions so untouchable and are never overturned? If this is not fixed, the legitimacy of this sport is at question! PS:

“What’s the point of counting strikes if they don’t mean anything and judges don’t even look at the stats. What do they go by?”

It remains to be seen if Holm and JacksonWink will make any efforts to get the decision overturned. However, as mentioned in the above statement, such occurrences are very rare and oftentimes never happen.

The loss ended Holm’s two-fight win streak and will make her road back to a potential 135-pound title shot down the road a bit more difficult. It will be interesting to see who the UFC pairs Holm with next upon her next Octagon outing.
