Garry Tonon is The GOAT for this one. Only in MMA could something this weird happen.
And that’s saying something because the last 24 hours in MMA have been crazy. Here is a brief pause from whatever garbage Conor and Khabib are spewing at one another at this very moment.
How good is Garry Tonon? The Lion Killer had his fourth MMA fight over the weekend for One Championship and he’s still schooling folks. It’s rare that a grappler of Tonon’s levels comes over to MMA in the first place. Tonon was set for life in grappling circuits and seminars.
Instead, because he’s nuts or he just has the next level mindset, Tonon crossed over to MMA and is having success. The latest victim of Team Tonon was veteran Anthony Engelen. Tonon did so in the first round and used a lot of his fists.
Garry is improving and it’s a scary thing.
What’s even more scary than a BJJ Wizard crossing over into the cage is society’s addiction to cellphone tech. 99% sure Garry Tonon is not addicted to screen time, but did he really fight with his phone tucked into his fight shorts?
Maybe it was by accident or maybe it was on purpose. This would make for a really good IG story moment. There’s Ben Henderson fighting with a toothpick in his mouth, then somewhere on the same level is taking your phone into the cage.
That is for sure Garry’s phone, right? Wonder who he called right after his win. This is a MMA trend MiddleEasy can get behind. One million bonus points to the first fighter to compete with a Nintendo Switch tucked into the front of their shorts.
