Cossio put on a show in the main event of Lux Fight League 22 on Thursday. Although Cossio’s statement might be controversial and debated, this isn’t necessarily his fault.
Sergio Cossio took on Edgar Delgado to close out the show, and gave fans something to go home talking about when it was all said and done.
Cossio was nailing Delgado with some ground-and-pound towards the end of the round, and decided to let his opponent get back up to his feet.
However, as Delgado got back up, the referee hesitated to step in between the fighters and allow Delgado to fully get reset.
Cossio took full advantage of the referee’s hesitation, pouncing back in towards Delgado and swinging in with a left hook that just missed its mark. However, the follow-up right-hand connected flush.
Delgado went down to the canvas hard for the knockout as the round’s final buzzer rang. The referee waved their hands signaling the end of the fight, giving Cossio the knockout victory.

MY GOD. Sergio Cossio acted like he was letting Edgar Delgado off the hook. Knocks him out cold at the bell.#LUX022 pic.twitter.com/lCo8ErrqFO
