Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson believes Molly McCann will one day hold UFC gold.
The Rock Tips Molly McCann For Future UFC Champion
Molly McCann is one of the most impressive young stars in the UFC today. Currently competing at flyweight, she’s the No. 15-ranked fighter in the division.
McCann is known for her explosive personality and even more combustive style inside the Octagon. She’s currently on a three-fight win streak, the latter two being finishes.
With her impressive showcases as of late, it’s hard for McCann not to capture the attention of mixed martial arts (MMA) fans all across the world – including the likes of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
The Hollywood megastar and ex-WWE Champion was so impressed with her last victory, a first-round TKO finish via spinning elbow, that he made an Instagram post about it.
Johnson even playfully called it “The People’s Elbow,” a play on the name of his old finishing maneuver from his days in WWE.
Soon after, media outlets began picking up the story, to which The Rock quote Tweeted an article from Barstool Sports, suggesting he believes McCann will one day hold UFC gold.
Strong chance we’ll hear #AndNew connected to @MeatballMolly’s name in the future 👏🏾👏🏾#peopleselbow💪🏾 #meatballelbow🦾 https://t.co/6rYgCKPh6r

The Rock is an avid MMA fan who has voiced support for various UFC fighters over the years.
In fact, he’s such a fan that he was once involved in the BMF Title bout between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz in 2019, presenting the eventual winner, Masvidal, with the title after the fight.
He also congratulated Leon Edwards on knocking out Kamaru Usman at UFC 278.
Most incredible and (at times) unpredictable sport in the world.
Which to me, is what makes it amazing.
Doesn’t matter if there’s 2min left or 2 seconds left in the fight. You never know where that KO can come from. Congratulations @Leon_edwardsmma on making history. #AndNew 👏🏾💪🏾 https://t.co/gDzDg3HKcu— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) August 21, 2022
Perhaps one day, if McCann does reach championship status, The Rock himself can wrap the title around her waist.
Before that, she has to worry about her next fight, where McCann will take on Erin Blanchfield at UFC 281 in November.
