Darren Till Potentially Having Troubles For UFC 244 Bout
Darren Till is expected to face Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244. However it seems there could be some obstacles which could interfere with that.
Till is looking to make his debut at Middleweight, in the co-main event of UFC 244. Despite that, he is throwing himself into the deep end, taking on Kelvin Gastelum. Kelvin is looking to rebound from his interim title loss to Israel Adesanya, in what will likely be the fight of the year.
Nevertheless, it seems that there could be a snag in this plan. Till has reportedly had some issues getting his Visa to compete in the U.S. While recent reports have stated that these issues were resolved, there is still the matter of when he will arrive. Currently Till will arrive on Friday morning, which could result in problems with the weight cut.
However, all is not lost for the co-main event. Till is still expected to make weight, and fight. However in the event that he is unable to do so, a replacement has been tapped to be ready to take his place. It was reported that number five ranked middleweight Jared Cannonier is on standby to take the fight, if anything happens.
Hopefully this is turn out to just be an unnecessary precaution. Although if needed, Jared Cannonier is a suitable replacement for Till. He has been looking for a big win, and a victory over Gastelum could propel him into the forefront of an uncertain title situation.
