Yoel Romero Calls For Fight With Israel Adesanya
There are some rumors going around that Israel Adesanya could be facing Yoel Romero next. If that is true, Yoel is definetly ready for the fight.
Adesanya was expected to fight Paulo Costa in his first defense of the UFC Middleweight title. However it was recently announced that Costa had suffered an injury, resulting in the fight being delayed. Therefore, Israel is left looking for a new contestant.
One of the people being considered for Adesanya is perennial contender Yoel Romero. Romero lost to Paulo Costa in his last fight. Although the bout was very close, and back and forth.
If Romero is next for “The Last Stylebender,” he is certainly ready. In a recent post to his Instagram, he goes in on Adesanya, calling for the fight. Moreover, he says he is just waiting on a date from the UFC.
“Hey Israel, why you say I see you boy, why you say I see you soon boy? No, no, no, you don’t need to say something like this. Give me the f—ing date. Give me the f—ing date. Tell Dana White the f—ing date, alright? That’s it.”
Some have given pushback about Romero potentially fighting for the title, as he is 1-3 in his last four contests. However, two of those fights were against the same person, and for the belt. Moreover, all three of his loses were extremely closely contested.
There are limited options for who else could fight Adesanya, if not Yoel Romero. The only other real option would be the winner of the UFC 244 co-main event this weekend. Either way, time will tell if Yoel is sent the date.
