Li Jingliang hits hard, and Daniel Rodriguez felt that first hand.
It’s been a few weeks since Rodriguez got a split decision over Jingliang at UFC 279 on short notice after a crazy fight week. It is a controversial decision as many fans, and 21 of 23 media members scored the fight for Jingliang.
While it wasn’t the most exciting fight either, there were a few power shots that Jingliang landed. In the latest episode of UFC279: The Thrill and Agony, ‘D-Rod’ revealed that ‘The Leech’ rocked him almost every time he touched him.
“He rocked me almost every time he hit me,” Rodriguez said. “I was like, ‘What the fu*k just happened?’ Like I was blacked out. I was like, ‘Holy fu*k.’ That happened twice. Three times I was like, ‘where am I?'”

Jingliang is known for his knockout power, as 10 of his 19 wins have come by way of KO, and this clip complements that.
Newfound fandom
Since his controversial loss, Jingliang has broken through to MMA fans and has a never level of fandom. He was the babyface starting at the canceled UFC press conference with his nice suit, and his ‘stardom’ has continued since then.
Back in the rankings
Rodriguez snagged Jingliang’s No. 14 welterweight ranking, pushing the Chinese fighter out of the rankings. He is riding a four-fight win streak and is 7-1 in the UFC. A big fight should be coming his way next.
