Hostile Crowd Heated At Colby Covington

UFC 241 featured megastars such as Nate Diaz accompanied by other stars in their own right in Daniel Cormier and Anthony Pettis. The event took place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California and delivered some finishes that we will never forget. But as heated as the event was inside of the octagon, it was just as heated in the crowd.

MMA stars that were in attendance for the event were the likes of Kamaru Usman, Jorge Masvidal, and none of than Colby Covington. Whenever Covington is involved, chances are that controversy and a hostile crowd will follow.

Covington had his favorite red MAGA hat on as the camera panned to him. The crowd let out deafening boos and Colby ate it all with a smile.

Dana White Addressed Covington At The Post Fight Presser

White expressed to the media exactly how hostile the crowd gets when Colby is around.

“Everybody in that section kept fighting with Colby (Covington),” White said to reporters. “So security kept coming over to me 50 times to get him out of there. And I said, ‘No, everybody needs to start acting like (fu**king) professionals because I don’t have another seat in this entire building.”

White then expressed his desires and expectations for fighters that are apart of the UFC roster. He also stated how UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway moved out of his seat so that Jorge Masvidal could sit there, closer to Covington.

“Listen to me,” said White to the fighters. “We got a big night going on here, we got a big fight. I don’t need a fight breaking out over here with you knuckleheads. Stop it.”

Covington loves controversy

It’s no secret that Masidal and Covington are friends and training partners at American Top Team. Who knows what mischief the two would have caused together, especially with a camera on them. Thankfully, Dana White and the UFC were on top of the ‘Chaos’ before it ensued. No matter the outcome, Covington is always looking for ways to piss off the fans and get the fights that he desires. Next up for Colby is UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman.

With so much drama in the UFC, it’s kind of hard being Mr. Colby C. Luckily for Covington, he was able to continue his heel persona unscathed. Colby shines the best in a hostile crowd, especially with the comfort of security. Hopefully, the MAGA schtick will die down as he prepares for a title fight. But if history repeats itself, Covington will need a lot more security in the future.
