Stipe Miocic Destroyed Daniel Cormier With Liver Shots And Nasty Head Blows!
The UFC’s biggest belt is up for grabs in Honda Center, Anaheim, California tonight (Saturday, August 17, 2019). The reigning undisputed 265-pound champ Daniel “DC” Cormier will try to defend his strap against the former Heavyweight king Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 241 PPV (pay-per-view) event.
The two previously fought at UFC 226, where Cormier dethroned Miocic with a nasty right hand in the first round. Will Stipe avenge the loss?
Stipe is in gray/black shorts, while Cormier wears his black shorts. The referee in charge of this combat is Herb Dean. The championship match kicks off!
Round 1
Stipe has a reach advantage. Fighters touch gloves, Cormier goes forward, low kick Stipe. Low kick Cormier. And another one. Not much action in the first minute of this round. Low kick “DC” again.
Cormier tricked him with a takedown attempt and landed a big punch. Low kick Stipe. Cormier hits the target with a left low kick, fighters clinch up, but Stipe evades. 1-2 lands. Good exchange on both sides.
Great right hand Cormier, he goes for a takedown, Cormier picked him up and slams him hard!!!
Cormier in the half-guard, Stipe goes for a Kimura, Cormier passed to half-guard again. Body shots Cormier, he controls Stipe on the canvas. Miocic is on his back, he looks helpless at the moment. Miocic gets back to full guard.
Left hook Cormier. Body shots Cormier, this is his round, Stipe must do something. Right elbow Stipe, and another one. Great ground and pound strikes by Cormier, he continues landing body blows, and Stipe fires back. Great up-kick by Miocic!!!
Cormier comes on Stipe’s back, Miocic turtled, and he eats strong hammer-fists, Herb Dean warned him to fight, Miocic gets up, goes for a takedown. The end of the round, 10-9 Cormier.
Round 2
Left jab Stipe, Cormier circles. Low kick Cormier, checked, awesome move by Stipe. Right-hand Miocic. And a great knee.
Cormier misses with a left hook. 1-2 Stipe. Few short punches by Stipe, awesome combo, Cormier misses over and over. Left hook “DC”. Fighters clinched up, big right hand Miocic. Cormier tries to clinch up over and over, Stipe keeps him on distance with solid jabs. Oh, it was an eye gauge, but the referee didn’t see that, a world-class exchange on both sides, at least 7-8 punches.
Right hand Cormier, followed up by 1-2. Miocic rotates and presses Cormier against the fence. Shoulder strike Miocic, Daniel on the fence. Big right straight Miocic. Left hand to the nose Miocic and Cormier is rocked, but he fires back with a strong punch. Overhand right missed by a centimeter, Miocic was lucky this time!!!
Left hook to the face Cormier. Cormier presses Miocic against the fence, this turns into a wild brawl. Wow, this clinch uppercut landed clean, this looks like a street fight!
Three quick punches Cormier. Stipe went for a takedown, Cormier countered with a strong punch. Right uppercut Cormier. Body kick Stipe. Right high kick Cormier, I can’t believe what I just saw!!! I don’t know this round, maybe 10-9 Cormier.
Round 3
Fighters shook hands. Miocic’s corner wants more kicks. Wow, it was a clean right hand to the chin, superb attack by Miocic, Cormier remains on his feet.
Takedown attempt Stipe, stuffed. Cormier uses fingers again, what’s wrong with Herb Dean?! Left jab Cormier. Great right hand Stipe. Clinch punch Cormier. Low kick “DC”. Uppercut lands. Trip attempt, Cormier defends, Herb Dean warns fighters to let the fence go.
Stipe presses Cormier, the two are fighting for the under-hooks. Stipe tried a spinning back elbow, but misses. Cormier slips away. Miocic feints. Cormier goes forward, and even attempts a body kick.
Miocic doesn’t move at all in this round.
Hey, Stipe just took Cormier down, Daniel got up and ate a knee.
Miocic looks great at the moment. Great combos on both sides, Cormier lands a low kick, followed by 1-2. Stipe doesn’t keep his hands high, and Cormier punishes him. Miocic is cut under his left eye!!!
Left hook Miocic. 1-2 Cormier. I think Cormier won this round 10-9.
Round 4
Miocic’s corner orders him to stay away from close combat.
Stipe looks cautious at the moment. Cormier pulls back. Not much action in the first minute. Low kick Cormier. Right-left lands for Cormier. Left jab Stipe. Left low kick Cormier.
Left uppercut to the body, and another one by Miocic. Left jab Cormier. Right hook Cormier. Low kick followed by an uppercut to the liver Miocic.
Great exchange on both sides, another liver shot Stipe. Oh, man, Cormier will have to recover his liver after that, he has to keep his right hand down or he won’t survive these blows! Good combos on both sides.
Stipe Miocic wants to demolish Cormier’s liver at all costs, tenth uppercut to the same spot! 1-2 Stipe, Cormier is rocked!!! Stipe Miocic attacks him hard! These are big strikes!!! Stipe Miocic wins, Herb Dean stops the fight!!! It’s all over!!!
