Dan Hooker is the latest mixed martial artist to brand himself with a notable piece of inked art. Tattoos have been huge identifying marks for stars such as Conor McGregor, whose big gorilla chest tattoo has been something of a symbol for “The Notorious.” Now, the UFC lightweight veteran Hooker seems to have gotten one of his own.

Hooker appears to have put a Samurai helmet with a lion on his back, very proud of the piece, showing it off on his official Instagram page. It appears to have been Hooker’s first-ever tattoo, as he captioned the image with “I’m not a virgin anymore… Tattoo Talks podcast ep inbound…” Check out the tattoo here below:

Hooker has been sidelined with a hand injury that forced him out of his scheduled UFC 285 bout against Jalin Turner. In his last outing, he picked up a second-round TKO victory against Claudio Puelles to snap a two-fight losing streak.

Currently, Hooker is the No. 11-ranked 155-pound fighter in the UFC. He has shared the Octagon with big-name opponents such as Islam Makhachev, Michael Chandler, Dustin Poirier, Paul Felder, and so many more. Now, he’s hoping to crack back into the top 10 in order to make another push for the lightweight title.

Of course, in a division absolutely stacked with talent, he’ll have quite the uphill battle to embark on following his injury recovery.
