Craig Jones revealed alleged “steroid stack” ahead of grappling match against Rafael Lovato Jr.

It’s no secret that performance-enhancing drug usage runs rampant in submission grappling, as the top organizations rarely test their athletes. Over the past two years, the UFC has become a presence in the sport by showcasing a handful of world-class competitors during their UFC Fight Pass Invitational series.

On March 3, UFC Fight Pass Invitational 6 features Jones and Lovato Jr facing off in a highly-anticipated main event. Ahead of his upcoming match, the B Team Jiu-Jitsu affiliate had this to say about using steroids during a video posted on Instagram

“Guys, today I’m revealing my UFC Fight Pass Invitational 4 steroid stack. So, I’ll be preparing this for Rafael Lovato after taking recovery seriously and the cornerstone of recovery for me is steroids…200 miligrams testosterone, cypionate 200 milligrams, 50 milligrams a day of anavar. That’s what I’ll be taking for this Rafael Lovato match.”

It should be noted that Craig Jones is known for satirical content. Therefore, he could be joking around to promote a sponsor who distributes performance-enhancing drugs.

Craig Jones denounces saunas and cold plunges as recovery options to promote steroids

Another reason to question the authenticity of Craig Jones’ social media video is his stance on recovery methods. Jones claimed the fast-growing movement to invest in saunas and cold plunges is a scam, while steroids will produce better results.

Jones had this to say in the previously mentioned Instagram video:

“Now, there’s a lot of misinformation out there about recovery methods for athletes and regular people. It’s all revolved around saunas and cold plunges. Really deep down, we all know what that is. That’s not recovery. That’s a large group of lonely men that desperately need a friend, and they’ve forgotten how to ask another man how to hang out.”

Jones continued:

“They have to get on the horn and say, ‘Hey, have you heard about heat shock proteins? You should really come around to my house and jumpin the sauna with me. After that, we’ll have a little cold plunge. Guys, the sauna ice bath epidemic isn’t about recovery, it’s about loneliness. If you want to take recovery seriously, get on steroids.”

Craig Jones is widely considered one of the top five jiu-jitsu competitors on the planet. At UFC Fight Pass Invitational 6, Jones will have another opportunity to silence the doubters when he takes on former Bellator middleweight champion Rafael Lovato Jr.
