 Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis Wants A 170-Pound Bout Against Mcgregor

Last night (Saturday, March 23, 2019) in the main headliner of UFC On ESPN+ 6 former welterweight title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Stephen faced off against former UFC lightweight champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis as both were tried to rebound from their recent losses however Pettis turned the tables as he got away with the highlight reel knockout win.

In the first two frames ‘Showtime’ busted and bloodied ‘Wonderboy’ with some whipping leg kicks. As soon Stephen found some pace and gain the momentum in the final moments of the round Pettis came back with a superman hook punch that caught ‘Wonderboy’ on the chin, and it was the end of Thompson.

It’s was a scintillating finish from Pettis considering the fact it was Anthony’s debut at UFC welterweight debut and became the first fighter to knock out ‘Wonderboy’ and a third fighter who hold wins in three divisions.

Following his victory, many pro-fighters react including Conor Mcgregor who congratulates Pettis.

Mcgregor is also one of the fighters who holds a win in three-divisions. He scored a 13-second knockout victory over Jose Aldo UFC 194 at featherweight, then fought twice at welterweight against Nate Diaz where each man holds a win over each other and then won a UFC lightweight title after beating Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205.

Another name that includes in this club is TUF 1 Alum Kenny Florian.

“Let’s do it. Hey, 170, 155, I’m not cutting down to ’45 again, so I’m willing,” Pettis said. “That’s the fight I think the fans would love to see, too. Two strikers like that, it would be amazing.”

Mcgregor recently revealed he’s in talks with the UFC for a summer return. He was rumored to fight Donald Cerrone however the negotiations fell apart due to not a headlining act.
