Aliens Explained: GSP tells Chael Sonnen about childhood alien drawings, erased memories, and a real-life UFO encounter

A year ago, Georges St. Pierre revealed his suspicion that he routinely encountered aliens, beginning when he was a child.

“I can’t say something happen to me. I have no proof. I just don’t know,” he said on the Joe Rogan podcast. “But I’m going to tell you something and I’m going to be honest about it. Sometimes, I’m looking at the clock. And it’s like I wake up and I look at the clock right after, and it’s like the clock advance like four hours, or two hours. There’s a time zone that I don’t remember what happened…. Or I can drive my car and it already happen. I drove my car in a normal day, going somewhere, and I look, and it’s two hour pass. Two hour had just pass like this (snaps fingers) … This is like a third-type encounter.”

The comments probably wouldn’t have been a big deal if he hadn’t then retired from MMA several months later, citing personal issues as part of the reason he was taking a sabbatical. And so, we’ve all had reason to nervously wonder if the beloved champ might be a bit looney.

Thankfully, Chael Sonnen has just asked GSP about the alien issue on his podcast.

“UFOs, Georges,” Sonnen says. “ I wanna know your opinion. Do we have aliens that have visited this country?”

Georges answers, “I never said . . . I never talk about aliens. I talk about non-identified flying objects. And if you don’t believe me, one day I was in Albuquerque . . . with Rashad Evans and Mike van Arsdale, a fighter called Alejandro, he’s a Mexican guy, and also Ali (Abdel-Aziz), I believe he managed Frankie Edgar. And we’re all in the car. And you could ask any of those guys . . . we were in a car in Albuquerque, New Mexico on the highway, and we saw a UFO all together.”

“I don’t know what it was,” he continues. “But it’s something that we cannot explain . . . it came swift towards us and right away it changed directions and it disappeared.”

It was the first time in his life he had seen a UFO. But the “thing with Joe Rogan” was “another thing . . . it has nothing to do with what I said.” Georges explains again that, from the time he was young, he experienced several losses of “time of memory of stuff that has happened.” It usually happened at night, when he went to bed. He would lose his complete memory of thirty minutes to an hour of his life, and this all happened before he started getting punched in the head for a living.

“It’s very weird stuff, and I heard it . . . a guy like, I think it’s Hershel Walker, it happened to him too . . . it’s a disease or something, but I have not been diagnosed by that disease that they talk about.”

Georges acknowledges that people may call him crazy, but he reveals something he hasn’t made public before. “When he was young,” he continues, “I used to be scared to sleep alone . . . and I used to at night run to my parents’ room and tell them ‘I am afraid and the monster is coming to get me,’ and I remember I used to draw them. I used to draw them, the monster I was talking about . . . As I’m getting older . . . as time goes by I stop having those memories of what was happening, and it’s kind of weird.”

“Sometimes I feel like my memory got erased.”

Georges admits he doesn’t know what happened, but he is clearly open to the possibility that he not only had alien encounters, but that those intelligent life-forms took steps to cover their tracks by erasing his memories.

“If you ask me about if I ever encountered something . . . I have no memory. I do have memory that, if you ask my parents, I used to draw the monster . . . I used to draw them on a paper. But even if I look at the paper, I have no memory of this, I have no memory that I used to draw them. It’s like a part of my life that’s been erased.”

He remembers that UFO encounter in Albuquerque, though. And that has to be unsettling for a guy who is trying to make sense of strange events from his childhood, and ongoing losses of memory that keep occurring under cover of night.
