Aleksei Oleinik Scores Endorsement With Massive Cannabis Company

Aleksei Oleinik is a long-time MMA veteran. Now, 65 fights in his professional career, he scores a giant deal with a huge cannabis company.

Oleinik has scored what one might call a career “high” with this massive sponsorship deal. Ahead of his bout with Walt Harris, Oleinik inked a deal with the largest issuer of pot ETF, ETF Group Managers LLC.

According to a Bloomberg report, ETFGM is now listed as “the official training sponsor” of the Russian. Additionally, ETFGM chief marketing officer Tricia Vanderslice had this to say, regarding this unique deal:

“It’s definitely not something you see as a common practice. We like to look at unique marketing that does justice to both the sector our product represents and the audience that we’re trying to hit and speak to and educate.”

According to this report, ETFGM is the most successful pot ETF companies in the market right now. Most notably, it says that what they’re known for, Alternative Harvest ETF “has about $1.1 billion invested in cannabis-related companies.” Likewise, it is stated that this is the highest-preforming ETFs of the year.

This is massive news for Oleinik, who is coming off a loss to Alistair Overeem. In contrast, it could now be a concern for his UFC tenure. Similarly, another fighter who has similar views on cannabis consumption, Elias Theodorou was cut from the UFC.

MiddleEasy is happy to see the MMA world be more open minded to things like this. Hopefully, things go well for Aleksei Oleinik against Walt Harris, at UFC on ESPN 4. Therefore, this could pave the way for similar deals for other fighters.
