The “Spartan” Is Among Others Who Won’t Be Fighting In The UFC Anymore…

Elias Theodorou gets cut from the UFC roster because the promotion just didn’t want to keep him around. Combate first reported the news, after that UFC confirmed with MMAJunkie.

Theodorou won the UFC Nations Australia vs. Canada in 2014 and with a 16-3 record he started off great with several exciting finishes. But, his last eight fights (3 losses) have been boring, all ending by decision, and it’s no surprise the UFC didn’t want to continue giving him a paycheck for mediocre performances.

It’s sad news for the #15th ranked middleweight but he just couldn’t hack it when it mattered… but apparently, he wasn’t the only one to get the boot. Heavyweight fighter Marcelo Golm and flyweight fighters Eric Shelton (12-6)  and Wilson Reis  (6-3) were released for underwhelming performances as well.

The fighting business is tough and it’s unfortunately not for everyone who pursues this path. But, we wish these fighters the best of luck in their future endeavors whether they continue to fight or try their hand at something different.
