DICE is finally kind-of fixing Battlefield 4, finally

Battlefield 4 should have been an amazing experience, instead it was a massive disappointment. I had hundreds of hours invested into Battlefield 3 and it was my go-to game when I needed a quick online fix, but Battlefield 4 just hasn’t stuck for some reason. A lot of it has to do with how the game just feels broken no matter what they’ve done thus far. It’s been painful to play Battlefield 4, honestly. I consider myself a pretty good Battlefield player and find BF4 to just be a disaster at times, even worse is that they haven’t fixed the damned game yet.

What do people think that the culprit is? The “tick rate” or refresh rate for how often the game sends data from the server to the end client. Battlefield 4 is currently using 10hz, which means it updates ten times per second, compared to games like Call of Duty that update at 30hz, or thirty times per second. Apparently DICE is finally getting it and trying to fix the damned game, but of course they are using PC gamers as the test subjects with their new CTE (Community Testing Environment) system.

This CTE system means that select users will have the ability to play BF4 as it is constantly updated by DICE. The biggest thing that they are trying to fix is the netcode for the game and according to users who have tested it out, the game feels like a completely new one and more like the Battlefield that we know and love. Could this really be it? Will Battlefield 4 finally be playable
