- Mark Zuckerberg has been promoted to BJJ blue belt
- The Facebook founder wants to train with the legendary Gordon Ryan for the Elon Musk fight
Mark Zuckerberg added another accomplishment to his combat sports resume. As he gears up for his much-awaited fight with Elon Musk, Zuck was promoted to Brazilian jiu-jitsu blue belt.
The hard work paid off
On his official Instagram account, Zuckerberg was pleased and honored to make the announcement.
“Congrats Dave Camarillo on your 5th degree black belt. You’re a great coach and I’ve learned so much about fighting and life from training with you. Also honored to be promoted to compete at blue belt for Guerilla Jiu-Jitsu San Jose team,” he wrote.
Zuckerberg’s trusted Bjj coach Dave Camarillo has been impressed by the Facebook founder’s hard work and determination. He previously said that Zuck really puts his mind into jiu-jitsu and MMA and he could tell that it is more than just leisure to the famous billionaire.
“He’s amazing. He is an extremely hard worker, as everybody knows. But a lot of people have a business and they’re successful and they have that side of their life, and rarely do they dip into the physical side, especially with something like Jiu-Jitsu and MMA, and have the same amount of success or even go past Day 1 or Month 1. He’s not that kind of guy,” Camarillo said of Zuckerberg.
The fight is on
Combat sports fans are still waiting for the official date and location of the Musk vs. Zuckerberg fight. While the world waits, Zuck and Musk spend their time and energy in training.
Zuckerberg has recently expressed his interest in training with legendary grappler Gordon Ryan. On the other hand, former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor has let Musk know that he’s down to help him in training against Zuckerberg, especially if the fight takes place under the UFC banner.
