Brazilian jiu-jitsu superstar Gordon Ryan revealed that Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg has reached out to him to train ahead of the Meta CEO’s heavily-rumored clash with fellow tech mogul Elon Musk.

What began as a couple of jabs on social media has turned into a full-blown spectacle courtesy of UFC President Dana White who is chomping at the bit to book a fight between two of the most prominent figures in the world today. By all accounts, Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk are 100% serious about a clash inside the cage and both men are calling in the biggest guns available to prepare.

In recent weeks Musk was pictured alongside UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre after the Titan of Tesla accepted an offer to train with the ex-UFC champion. Zuckerberg, on the other hand, has been spotted training alongside five-time IBJJF world champion Mikey Musumeci as well as reigning UFC titleholders Alexander Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya.

Whilst speaking to the voice of the Octagon, Bruce Buffer, on the long-time UFC announcer’s YouTube channel, Gordon Ryan revealed that Musk has already been training with his team, New Wave Jiu-Jitsu, while Zuckerberg has reached out to Ryan directly, inviting him to California.

“Elon is actually training with Jon [Danaher] and the guys here because George came and he was training with Elon,” Ryan said. “And Zuckerberg actually messaged me. He wants me to go out to California sometime and train with him. So, I didn’t get to train with Elon or Zuckerberg yet, but John trained with Elon and I’ve seen Zuckerberg train and compete.”

Gordon Ryan Offers His Prediction for Musk vs. Zuckerberg

As for how things will go should Musk and Zuckerberg ever actually step on the mat, Ryan believes Zuck’s experience and youth will play the biggest factors, but much of that depends on how seriously Musk takes his training should the fight actually come to fruition.

“Elon’s a lot bigger than Zuckerberg, but he’s also in his 50s, and Zuckerberg’s in his 30s, and Zuckerberg trains pretty religiously from what I hear, and actually competes,” Ryan continued. “So, if they were to compete in jiu-jitsu right now, which Zuckerberg, I talked to him and he’s 100% in to fight Elon at ADCC for a superfight next year, and Mo will actually make that happen if they both want to do it.

“But if they competed in jiu-jitsu right now, I think Zuckerberg would win pretty easily because I think Elon doesn’t really train that much. He trained Judo a long time ago, but muscle memory is a diminishing skill. It isn’t probably really there and Zuckerberg is training every day hard, and he’s serious about it. I sent him some of my instruction videos to watch, so he’s studying tape and taking it seriously.

“I think right now Elon would get tired pretty fast and Zuck would end up submitting him, but if Elon starts training, who knows, because he is a lot bigger than Zuckerberg.”
