  • Conor McGregor is down to train Elon Musk in a potential mixed martial arts contest with Mark Zuckerberg but doubts if it’ll happen
  • McGregor is excited to see two of the most high-profile upcoming heavyweight fights; Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou vs Tyson Fury

Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor is nearing his highly anticipated comeback after suffering a gruesome leg break injury in his last outing against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. He is set to face top-five ranked lightweight contender Michael Chandler and serves as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter 31, which will continue airing until August 15. While the matchup has been announced, the date and venue remain unclear. USADA’s requirement for McGregor to stay in the drug testing pool for at least six months cast doubt on the fight happening this year.

Conor McGregor Down to Train Elon Musk for Mark Zuckerberg Fight But Has His Doubts

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk called out Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who accepted his challenge to a mixed martial bout on Twitter last month. UFC president Dana White announced the developments were solid and the fight was a possibility.

In a recent YouTube video by Adam Glyn, Conor McGregor shared his thoughts on the rumored Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg fight. He expressed his willingness to train Musk but isn’t sure if the billionaires are serious about the contest.

“I’m interested. Are they going to go ahead with it? Is it going to happen? If it happens under the UFC banner, I’m with it. Nice to happen under the UFC banner and then I’m with it,” said McGregor. “For sure, for sure, I’ll do a bit of work with [Elon]. I hope they go ahead with it. The pockets might be long but is the talk cheap?

“They said it. Are they going to do it now? I’m excited to see how it unfolds.”

He reported positive training updates heading toward his return.

“I’m training for my fight. [I’m feeling] really good. I’m ready to fight.”

McGregor talks about Francis Ngannou vs Tyson Fury

‘Notorious’ gave his take on the upcoming showdown between former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and boxing champion Tyson Fury.

“Yeah, I’m interested to see how it goes. Is it boxing or is it MMA? I’ve not heard much about it. Is it official official? I’m happy for Ngannou. Fair play to him, man. With Tyson, you never know what weight Tyson is. Is he in shape? Anything can happen there so I wish them both well. I’m excited to see it.”

McGregor is excited for Jon Jones v Stipe Miocic

McGregor believes Stipe Miocic has the right skill set to trouble UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones in some areas. He also gave assurance he would get back inside the cage this year.

“Jones vs Miocic, a great heavyweight bout. Jon proved his worth in the heavyweight division. Stipe, they say is one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. I’m interested to see how that will go. Has he been training as well? He’s got some things that could trouble Jon and Jon is Jon Jones so I’m excited to see how it goes.

“A lot of great fights on the pipeline. The Mac’s coming back this year.”

Conor McGregor has not been doing well in his coaching role against Chandler on the reality mixed martial arts competition show. Out of seven bouts televised so far, Team McGregor did not record a single win. Hopefully, McGregor is able to return this year but he would need to get a special exemption from USADA to make it happen this year.
