Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg revealed in a post on social media that he recently tore his ACL while sparring.

Zuckerberg, 39, is best known for his social media empire which includes Facebook, Instagram, and his newest app that was originally dubbed the ‘Twitter Killer,’ Threads. But in recent years, ‘The Zuck’ has become known in the mixed martial arts community for his love of the sport and his dedication to training regularly.

But with the training sometimes comes the injuries. That’s exactly what happened according to the man himself who revealed the devastating injury shortly after getting out of surgery.

“Tore my ACL sparring and just got out of surgery to replace it,” Zuckerberg wrote on Instagram. “Grateful for the doctors and team taking care of me. I was training for a competitive MMA fight early next year, but now that’s delayed a bit. Still looking forward to doing it after I recover. Thanks to everyone for the love and support.”

Mark Zuckerberg Earns the Respect of the MMA Community

Zuckerberg has been spotted in recent months training with some of the biggest names in the sport, including UFC superstars Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski, as well as reigning ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci. Earlier this year, the Meta CEO made his first appearance at a Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition and reportedly went home with some gold despite suffering a setback in his opening match.

For a while, Zuckerberg was linked to a social media smackdown with fellow billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk. The two had agreed to step inside the MMA cage against one another in the name of charity, but their differences over how the bout should be promoted ultimately led to talks dying down.

Since then, Musk has continued to poke and prod Zuckerberg with verbal jabs, none of which ‘The Zuck’ has bothered to return.
